Switzer Signs ATO with Milwaukee

Senior defensman, Craig Switzer, signed an Amateur Try-Out agreement with the Milwaukee Admirals today which means that the NHL's Nashville Predators, who own his rights until 30 days after he has left college per 2004 NCAA exemption NHL Draft rules), have not signed him yet but still wanted the opportunity to see him play at the professional level.

An interesting note (see bottom of linked page): The University of New Hampshire is ranked 77th in terms of teams for the number of players sent to the NHL with 31.

Switzer played more games than any of the other seniors on the team with an iron-man record of 158 games in a Wildcat uniform. During that time he scored a career total of 12 goals, 6 this past season, and 55 assists, with 14 each of the last three seasons and 13 in his freshman season that saw him play in 41 games. He finished with a career plus-minus of +31, +11 this season and a career high of +21 last season.

The Admirals will host the Houston Aeros tonight at 8:30 EST.

Craig will be joining a host of other former Hockey East players including Jason Guerriero(NU), John Laliberte(BU) and Bryan Schmidt(Merrimack).

Congratulations Craig!

Play hard!

Go 'Cats!
